AgriThority® Global Director, Regulatory Affairs to Present at Biostimulants World Congress

(Kansas City, Missouri, USA – August 29, 2026) George Fountas, AgriThority® Global Director, Regulatory Affairs, will be a featured presenter at Biostimulants World Congress. The presentation will be during the Science & Technical Track: Microbial Biostimulants and Biofertilizers on Dec 1 at 5:25 Pacific Time in Sacramento, Calif.

Fountas’s presentation, “Strain is Key in Biostimulant Development, Registration and Commercial Performance,” will focus on the importance of understanding the impact of different strains or cultures of the same species.

“Biostimulant performance and regulatory timelines could become more consistent if activity is identified by strain and not just by species,” Fountas said. “As knowledge grows, biostimulant developers will see requirements for regulatory approval, and grower adoption will also evolve toward specific claims with supporting data for the strain, not just the species. I’m looking forward to addressing this topic during the Science and Technical Track the first day of Biostimulants World Congress.”

As understanding of biostimulant performance progresses, so does understanding about the impact of different strains or cultures of the same species. This is clearly accepted for insecticides, fungicides and nematicides, but Genus and species are largely the accepted sufficient identifier for biostimulants.
